The next rather interesting announcement comes from MSI, which is a popular and established manufacturer of all-in-one PCs as well as laptops. Hardware giant Intel has recently announced the launch of its second generation Core processors, better known as Sandy Bridge, and MSI has incorporated that very technology and has announced the launch of sixteen new laptops featuring the Sandy Bridge power-houses. The G-series laptop have been made keeping in mind the specific needs of a hardcore gamer as the G-series laptops will sport those new quad-core Core i7 chips, with the 17.3-inch GT780 and 15.6-inch GT680 delivering Dynaudio speakers, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 500 and 400-series graphics and dual SSDs, whereas, for the casual gamers, there are the GR620 and GE620 models which are relatively of low specification. The F-series laptops are said to be a fusion of fashion and performance as these devices feature the Core i7 chips, but trades in switchable NVIDIA GT 500-series graphics, whereas the 14-inch FX420 has the Core i5 processor and also loses the dedicated number pad. However, it should be kept in mind that MSI has not released detailed specifications of all of these devices; nevertheless the information provided is enough to give a preview of what these devices are actually capable of doing. So we can expect a lot of tablet announcements to be made at CES, but before that. Regardless of the fact that a tablet is either Android or Windows based, Amazon has announced that it plans to release free Kindle apps for devices running either operating system. The free Kindle apps will let users purchase and read Kindle books on both kinds of tablets syncing automatically with apps that are already available on a variety of other devices, such as desktops, web app, and smartphones like the iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows 7 and Android as well as Kindle e-readers, iPod touches and iPads. This is a vital part of Amazon's strategy in which the company tries to make the Kindle Store available on as many devices as it possibly can, ensuring ease of use for the consumers as well as hiking the sales figures.
