Are These Internal Parts of Apple iPhone 5 or the CDMA-based Verizon iPhone 4? [Video] Posted: 06 Jan 2011 01:02 PM PST While the whole world is busy gawking over the product announcements made at the Consumer Electronics Show, here is a rather interesting scoop of Apple related information that we've just come across. GlobalDirectParts has posted a plus five minute video showcasing what they believe to be parts from the iPhone 5, or maybe the Verizon iPhone. GlobalDirectParts.com reports:
Click here to watch the video [external link] From looking at this video, one can comprehend that Apple supposedly has moved the positioning of the antennas that make up the metal frame around the device, and now, an entirely new internal metal band runs across the device. The band extends just above the home button starting from near the ‘spot’ that bridges the two antennas at the bottom left of the iPhone., so what this really means is that these might be the changes, which will prevent the next iPhone from developing antenna issues the likes of the iPhone 4. GlobalDirectParts says that it is going to release more details next week. A little heads up, GlobalDirectParts just might be up to some legitimate stuff as we've posted the YouTube link to this particular video down below and it has been removed by Apple, filing a copyright claim against this video, see for yourself:

Samsung announces the WiFi only version of Galaxy Tab Posted: 06 Jan 2011 09:16 AM PST I have said it before and I will dare say it again – its raining Android Tablets in Las Vegas. Samsung, the proud makers of the Samsung Galaxy S, have announced the WiFi only version of the well received Samsung Galaxy Tab and will be landing it at the retail stores in some part of the current quarter. The WiFi variant has the same set of specs as the WiFi+3G version of Galaxy Tab except for the obvious omission of 3G connectivity support. It has a 1 Ghz processor, 3 MP rear facing camera, 1.3 MP front-facing camera, runs on Android 2.2 aka Froyo, sports a bright looking 7 inch multi-touch display screen, and has 16 GB of internal storage. Want more? You can get additional storage thanks to a microSD expansion slot which supports up to 32GB space. Most important of all, it supports Adobe Flash 10.1 meaning you can play Flash enabled games, watch YouTube videos, use RIA (Rich Internet Applications) and other Flash based content. To sum it all up, with a Samsung Galaxy Tab, you are guaranteed to have a complete browsing experience. Unfortunately, there is no mention of the price tag that Sammy intends to associate with the Tablet. But the important question is this, will you go for this Tablet considering the availability of more modern tablets in Motorola XOOM and others? [via BGR] |
Apple’s Mac App Store is Finally Live Posted: 06 Jan 2011 06:09 AM PST The much rumored, exceedingly hyped and anxiously awaited Mac App Store has just went live, and is now accessible through Mac OS X machines, particularly through version 10.6.6 of Snow Leopard, this launch finally brings the iOS similar application market and puts it in the hands of millions of Mac OS X users worldwide.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs has said:
As mentioned, the Mac App Store is launching with nearly a 1,000 apps in the store, Apple's signature iLife suite is available in entirely individual parts, iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand apps are available individually in the Mac App Store for $14.99 each, and Pages, Keynote and Numbers apps from iWork are available for $19.99 each. Aperture 3, Apple's powerful photo editing and management software, is available for $79.99. Indeed, as compared to the iOS App Store, the number of apps in the Mac App Store is relatively quite less, however this number is surely going to rise soon enough. The Mac App Store will function similarly to the App Store that all Apple users are accustomed to, providing a universal installation process and update notifications. Excited? We are too! Surprisingly Curved & Thin Android Powered Sony Ericsson Xperia arc Revealed at CES 2011 Posted: 06 Jan 2011 05:34 AM PST There were many interesting announcements made today at the Press Day of The International Consumer Electronics Show, CES 2011, in Las Vegas. This particular device announcement comes from Sony, which has revealed an appealing fresh device from Sony Ericsson's Xperia product lineup, and it is called the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc. The full specifications of the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc are:
The camera is just too good on this slim and curved Xperia arc, however it doesn't come as a surprise because Sony Ericsson is known to put really good quality cameras on their devices. Several main features of the Sony Ericsson Xpera arc's camera are auto focus, face detection, LED flash, image stabilizer, geo tagging, and noise suppression. Sony's Exmor R technology is also found on the Xpera arc, which will allow users to take good quality photos in areas where lighting is an issue. The Sony Ericsson Xperia arc does not lose points for connectivity at all, as the device features USB, HDMI, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. A 3.5 mm headset jack is also found on the device. The arc is also aGPS and DLNA compatible and is shipped with an 8 GB microSD card, upgradeable up to 32 GB. This really is an interesting device from Sony Ericsson and is bound to attract a decent response from customers when it is actually released. The Sony Ericsson Xperia arc is expected to be available in selected markets, including Japan, from the first quarter of 2011. |
