Privacy Concerns Rise As New FaceTime Bug Shows Pictures From The Past Posted: 06 Apr 2011 04:54 AM PDT A rather unusual FaceTime bug has been hitting iPhone 4 users. According to a post that was started on Apple Discussion Forum, Some people claim that FaceTime is bringing up random pictures, mostly from either their past FaceTime calls or photos. The user wrote:
Whereas, another user feels as if the camera is keeping random images which have neither been taken before and nor are from previous FaceTime calls:
By what can be read in the comments, actions like restoring the phone and manually re-installing all the apps don’t seem to work at all. Obviously, people are bound to be concerned about their privacy. It seems like if this issue continues to prevail at a larger scale, we might see a software fix soon enough. |
Supposed Fifth-Generation iPod touch Pictures Show Capacitive Home Button And 128GB Capacity Posted: 06 Apr 2011 04:36 AM PDT Up till now we’ve been hearing rumors about the iPhone 5 and what it is probably going to have. What about the next generation “iPhone without a contract?” Alleged pictures of the fifth generation iPod touch have started making rounds on the internet and they basically hint at two things: A capacitive Home button and a whooping 128GB of storage capacity.
One thing that should be noticed here is that these pictures show the iPod touch 5G with a full metal back, exactly what we’ve heard the iPhone 5 might get. The pictures received from an anonymous source claim the device to be a DVT-1 prototype of the next generation iPod touch. Interesting thing to note here is that according to these pictures, the next generation iPod touch is going to have a capacitive Home button instead of the current hardware one. Do you believe that these pictures are actually legitimate? Or is it yet another prank in spirit of April Fools Day? That remains to be seen. However, it is going to be pretty awesome if an iPod touch with 128GB of storage is released. Consider the possibilities! |
Consumer Reports: iPad 2 Is The King of Tablets Posted: 05 Apr 2011 11:55 AM PDT Consumer Reports, who hasn’t been in favor of Apple GSM and CDMA variant of iPhone 4 due to the antennagate issue is in a totally different and pleasant mode for an Apple product. The gadget review and rating site in a press release has revealed what many of us already knew, iPad 2 is the top ranked Tablet. Consumer Reports were a bit surprised to crown iPad 2 for the following reason:
The review site took iPad 2, original iPad and other Tablets from Archos, Dell, Motorola, Samsung, and ViewSonic on a rough test drive. All of these tablets were tested on 17 fronts which include touch-screen responsiveness, vesatility, portability, screen glare, and ease of use. iPad 2, topped the Ratings, scoring Excellent in nearly every category. Consumer Reports interestingly declared Motorola Xoom as the only Apple Tablet competitor, something which I strongly disagree with as the Android Tablet has failed to create a buzz in the Tablet arena. |
Macbook Air is Apple’s Upcoming Major Revenue Engine Posted: 05 Apr 2011 10:39 AM PDT When Steve Jobs announced the new generation of MacBook Air in 2010, I had a feeling that the slim and light weighted Mac notebooks will appeal to the consumers and my thought has been seconded today. An analyst has revealed that the MacBook Air has been a hit product and will return Apple a revenue in the range of 2.2 billion dollars. J.P. Morgan analyst Mark Moskowitz in a note to investors revealed what Apple needs to do get this massive revenue:
The analyst while terming MacBook Air growth as moderate opined that the extremely light and easy to carry notebooks will increasingly contribute to the overall Mac business which will of course please Apple. The last quarter of 2010 was a positive one as it saw Apple shipped 420,000 units of MacBook Air which makes up 10% of all Mac units sold in the quarter. If a product is returning revenues like this, you have no choice but to term it as a revenue engine don’t you? [via Cult of Mac] |
